Class issues.
Oscar Wilde once famously referred to "the English country gentleman galloping after a fox" as "the unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable". Even before the time of Wilde, much of the criticism of foxhunting has been couched in terms of social class. They argue that while more "working class" blood sports such as cock fighting and badger baiting were long ago outlawed, fox hunting persists.

More recently the British anarchist group Class War has argued explicitly for disruption of fox hunts on class warfare grounds. Hunt supporters have often claimed that the associated legislation passed in the United Kingdom in 2004 banning hunting with dogs was motivated by a 'class war'.

Police: Amateur Videos Don't Tell Story
Amateur videos of police using force on suspects have sparked varying degrees of outrage from California to Philadelphia and Europe after onlookers captured incidents on cheap cameras or video cell phones and posted footage on the Internet.

Some law enforcement officials worry about the effect, arguing that showing only a tiny part of an event can't tell the whole story. They also fear widespread exposure of such video clips might give officers pause in the future, even when force is justified, and that could put people in danger.

UCPD TASER POLICY
The application of any pain compliance technique shall be discontinued once the officer determines that full compliance has been achieved.
Initial UCPD Statement
The CSO made an announcement that he would be checking for university identification. When a person, who was later identified as Mostafa Tabatabainejad, refused to provide any identification, the CSO told him that if he refused to do so, he would have to leave the library. Since, after repeated requests, he would neither leave nor show identification, the CSO notified UCPD officers, who responded and asked Tabatabainejad to leave the premises multiple times. He continued to refuse. As the officers attempted to escort him out, he went limp and continued to refuse to cooperate with officers or leave the building.
Tabatabainejab encouraged library patrons to join his resistance. A crowd gathering around the officers and Tabatebainejad's continued resistance made it urgent to remove Tabatabainejad from the area.

Officer in Taser case identified
Duren, who was named officer of the year in 2001, also has been involved in several controversial incidents on campus. "I patrol this area the same way I would want someone to patrol the neighborhoods where I live," he said. "People make allegations against cops all the time. Saying one thing and proving it are two different things."

"If someone is resisting, sometimes it's not going to look pretty taking someone into custody," he said. "If you have to use some force, it's not going to look pretty. That's the nature of this job." But Duren — who was back on duty at the UCLA campus Monday night — said he can roll with these punches and wants to explain himself to students critical of his actions.

"In this line of business, you have to have a thick skin," he added. "I am proud of my service as a cop."
